Orchestral Maneuvers — Barcelona
March 16-22, 2017. Sant Cugat, Barcelona, Spain.
Presented by: Sandra Bain Cushman, Jaxie Binder, Andrés Ceccarelli, Mariana Scaravilli and Martin Schwutke.
Arrivals: March 16, early afternoon.
Departures: March 22, morning.
This project is open to those who wish to attend and who wish to deepen their personal practice through exploration of Life in the Body.
We will explore the question that drives the Orchestral Maneuvers endeavor: How do we develop the attention and coordination necessary for our work with others?
We will also continue to hold the question-after-the-question: How do we work with others? Specifically in the Circle?
Everyone is welcome to apply. Work with Circulations (rhythm, voice, guitar, other instruments), Body Beat, Thinking on Our Feet, and other work in the Circle will be explored using primary and secondary exercises based in The Five Relations.
Work in the House and Kitchen will be an integral part of the project for all participants.
Instructors will be available for personal meetings and small group work.
Sandra Bain Cushman will guide work with The Five Relations.
Mariana Scaravilli and Jaxie Binder will guide us in orchestral performance: extemporisations and other techniques.
Andrés Ceccarelli and Martin Schwutke will guide personal practice: calisthenics and fretboard knowledge and small ensembles: repertoire and circulations for guitarists. (In New Standard Tuning)

5-Day Residential Workshop by Alexander Technique Workshops International
July 17th to 22nd, 2017, Winston-Salem, NC USA
Couched within the Alexander Technique 5-Day Residential Workshop, Sandra’s Orchestral Maneuvers homeroom will present ways to move, walk, play, speak and sing freely and with less effort. Sandra’s work is based on work with Biotensegrity & The Five Relations. In OM we are exploring new and playful ways to enrich our relationship with ourselves by working with others in the group. For musicians and those who want to have as much fun as musicians.
Special student rates given to the GC Community. Mention this when registering for the course.
